SHE BATHED IN ROSES AND VIOLETS BLEW: VIOLETS ARE BLEW A 7TH BIRTHDAY
It had been over a year since I decided that the theme for 2022 Valentines content would be Violets Are Blue, so when December rolled around of last year I started planning. Now traditionally everything during Valentines is either Pink or Red. You see a little lavender here and there but not much. So with the theme being violets are blue, I decided to incorporate all the purple and blue hues especially periwinkle, since it was a color I have been obsessed with well before Pantone made it color of the year.
I did my research. As we all know the poem: Roses are Red, Violets are Blue- except they aren’t lol; I knew there had to be an origin, where and how did this except evolve from. So I googled and low and behold it was written in 1562 by Sir Edward ; and was almost completely changed over the course of 450 years. And once I read it I knew I had to retitle my concept to Violets are Blew
Fueled by my research of the original poem my sons love of flowers I knew that this party had to reflect the poem as much as possible. Its romantic roots run deep in the details of this party, from the personalized mini flower ice buckets to the oh so whimsical florals. The goal of this party was to merry the hues of blue and purple into a party that transcends gender and transported you into an English garden.
The location was the perfect blank canvas the large empty field owned by Marissa and future site of the family forever home, would once again provide for the perfect setting.
As with all of our parties the kids table would take center stage. Julie from @emeraldgraceflorals created the most enchanted garden beginning with the kids table. She created a runner of florals running the entire length of the table (eight feet long). Filled with the most whimsical of florals. Her ability to play with whimsy and texture is unmatched; she definitely transported us to an English Garden.
Each table setting was a deconstructed violet complete with a paper leaf napkin topped with a flower dyed napkin and either a violet candy lollipop by @thesweetstoryline or a box of Violet mints completed the place setting.
What’s a kids party without an activity? We turned to our friends @whitecastle bounce house, which alone is spectacular but with the help of @belas_Ballons jaw dropping balloon installation it took it over the top. Lifted Balloon fabric tassel garland added the perfect amount of softness.
Marissa’s DIYed back drop was the perfect location for yet another amazing floral installation by Julie and made for the perfect location for the amazing couture cake made by @conbesos, and the mouth watering macaroons by @soireemacaroons. Arylics made by @modernbirch helped add that extra detail to donuts and other desserts.
Tristians party was truly for spring lovers.
