Fourt Knight
If you know me you know I love a good pun. Tallon’s party was really born from his love of How to Train Your Dragon and his love of video games. Not really knowing much about video games one game I kept seeing was Fortenite, and with most of my ideas I was driving and said if came to me, Fourt Knight incorporating the fort/Viking/knights of the round table medieval feel. From there everything snowballed pretty quickly. I knew instantly I need a round table that was over following with a feast.
Round Table
I knew that I had to reach out to our dear friend and amazing vendor Nicole @danvillecheese. As with anything Nicole does she drove right in and knew exactly what I wanted. With Nicole I know all I have to do is give her the concept and she runs with it. For us it’s important to give creative freedom to our vendors. I like to say “color outside the lines but within the page.” She created a board that was to die for. With yummy cheeses and every so lovely details it was enjoyed by all of us.
From there I knew in order to make it feel lavish and a medieval feast I was going to have to add to her amazing board with things that are associate with a feast from that time. I baked my first turkey that was amazing no joke, I bake it with bacon fat- like whoa. I sourced to premade turkey legs and additional fruits and veggies. I layered it all into one big center piece of food fit for a king.
The seating of course has to be different, we are house of fete right? I used logs that I sourced from a local vendor for the seats. I utilized a gorgeous table linen from Pleasanton rentals. The table settings where composed of a gold charger that I have had for years which I layered with a shield striped red napkin and red utensils all from our favorite @ohhappydaypartyshop. I sourced small plastic beer mugs for “Meed” (aka rooter floats).
The Fort
Who do we call on for balloon and installs none other than our friend Lindsi at @thecollectivecreativeco. When I told her what I was planning she jumped at the chance to build the fort which is perfect for our small backyard and the boys just loved it. She added a gorgeous balloon garland incorporating the colors of kings and queens, very regal. Loved it all. I adorned it with a silver pendant banner and rungs keeping it simple but a safe place from the rain.
The Cake
Of course I had to contact our talented friend Ines from @caramela_cakes. I mean I showed her the concept and she was ready and willing to do it. It came out perfect even adding the scroll saying “Happy Naming Day Tallon” which I think was an added detail sometimes overlooked with parties that have themes similar. When you cut into it fresh strawberries emerged to add that extra punch of flavor, delicious.
The Details
To complete the party I sourced some wards, cloks, amour and a helmet for dad because after all he’s a defender of the fort too. Speaking of dad, Josh build a faux gazebo that would surround the table from which we I hung fresh cedar garland and carnations that I hung from thing fishing line that was placed only behind the king himself Tallon.
The Battle
Tallon enjoyed every minute of the party, I have never seen him so happy at one of our parties and for that I am so happy and thankful to Gia of @giachongphotography who captured all of the images and for Rochelle of @rochelleamberphotographyfor all of her amazing edits. Capturing children is challenging and capturing a child on the spectrum can be hard but Gia was kind patient and fun! Thank you so much for getting some of the best pictures of my son looking at the camera.
Hoped you enjoyed reading this walk though Tallon’s party and once again thank you so much to all the vendors:
